Merry Christmas! TGM Kanis supports the new construction of the Nuremberg Children's Hospital with obstetrics and the Aldea Laura school project in Guatemala

We’d like to thank you for the pleasant cooperation and are looking forward to a new year 2024 together with you.As in previous years, we are sponsoring a charity organisation in our area instead of sending Christmas gifts. This year we made the decision in favor of two projects that we would like to support financially:

On the one hand is the new building of the Nuremberg Children’s Hospital with obstetrics: In our neighborhood on Campus South, a new hospital for children will be growing in the next few years, which will combine several clinics: the Clinic for Newborns, Children and Adolescents, the Clinic for Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Urology Obstetrics at the Clinic for Gynecology and the Department of Psychosomatics at the Clinic for Psychiatry, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy in Childhood and Adolescence. The new building will enable more close collaboration for the medical care of the little ones. The children’s participation project, which was initiated right from the start, collected ideas and wishes from the target group for child-friendly equipment with a feel-good aspect. These ideas can now be implemented with our support.

We have also selected the association Aldea Laura e.V.: The Aldea Laura school project makes it possible for disadvantaged children in the small town of Chocruz in the highlands of Guatemala to receive a basic education and a decent life. This means enabling them to attend a school where they learn reading, writing and arithmetic, where they receive free breakfast and lunch every day and where they are taught the basics of health care and hygiene. Half of Guatemala’s population lives in poverty. Many children in this region suffer from malnutrition. The drought in Central America has caused a sharp increase of prices for staple foods such as corn and beans this year.

With our donation, the Christmas campaign for the students at the school in Chocruz can be carried out this year. All 280 children receive Christmas packages with high-quality food. By purchasing in large quantities, the food can be purchased relatively cheap from regional wholesalers. The individual packages are put together and distributed by teachers and parents. This is an important help for the families.

We wish you and your family a peaceful Christmas and a healthy New Year!

Yours sincerely
